YOUR EVERYDAY CARE ROUTINE
Preserve the look. Enjoy the drive.
Routine, gentle cleaning helps preserve the appearance of automotive leather. Always follow the care instructions supplied with your particular Katzkin materials and test any cleaner in an inconspicuous area first.
01 · Remove dust
Vacuum seams and creases with a soft brush attachment. Wipe the surface with a clean, soft microfiber cloth.
02 · Clean gently
Use a cleaner specifically recommended for automotive leather and follow its label. Avoid soaking the upholstery or allowing liquid to collect in perforations.
03 · Blot spills promptly
Blot with a soft absorbent cloth rather than scrubbing. For dyes, oils or stubborn stains, ask Trinity Leather for guidance before applying a stronger product.
04 · Reduce heat and wear
Use shade when possible and avoid leaving sharp or abrasive items on seats. Check clothing dyes and new denim for potential color transfer.
What to avoid
Do not use bleach, ammonia-based household cleaners, abrasive brushes, solvents, steam cleaning, or heavy leather oils unless your upholstery manufacturer specifically approves them. Products made for household furniture are not automatically suitable for automotive interiors.
Perforated and two-tone leather
For perforated inserts, apply cleaner to the cloth rather than directly onto the seat to help prevent moisture from entering the holes. On lighter leather, remove dye transfer early and avoid rubbing contrasting stitching aggressively.
